San Juan Timberwrights is a timber frame construction company that has been in business since 1986. Mike McDowell and Doug Wakefield, the partners in San Juan Timberwrights, have been in home construction for over 25 years. Both partners have civil engineering degrees which, added to their years in construction, bring a unique combination of knowledge and hands-on experience to the business. Our goal is always to create structures for our clients that reflect a dedication to unique, quality craftsmanship that can be passed from generation to generation with pride. We have a talented crew who design and build our frames. The pictures in this section will give you an introduction to all of
us and to our facilities. We have two locations in Colorado: one in Arboles,
near Durango and the other in Norwood, west of Telluride. We welcome visits
to either of our shop locations and will be happy to give you the tour
